Broward County Health Department Dental Office wants to be your “Provider of Choice” for dental services.

Who can receive dental services?
Dental services are available to the following populations:

• Children (especially those in the Head Start and Early Head Start Programs) - any child age 4 to 18 years of age who meets the economic eligibility guidelines may receive services; Medicaid is also accepted.

• Services for clients funded by the Ryan White Program

• Adults (who are defined as eligible under federal poverty guidelines)

What Services Are Available?

1) Children
Children may receive clinical preventative and restorative services. Emergency dental care for any child is available during the weekday schedule.

2) Services for clients funded by the Ryan White Program
The Health Department is the lead agency for the Ryan White Care Act Dental Services and provides services at four clinical locations for those who qualify. Three of the sites serve adults and the fourth site serves children under age 18, as well as the caregivers of the child who receives Ryan White services. In addition to clinical services, clients may be referred as necessary to Nova Southeastern University Dental School or the Nova Southeastern University Oral Surgeon at Broward General Medical Center.

3) Adults
The Health Department provides preventive and limited routine dental care for eligible adults referred to the clinic through the Memorial Health Care System Primary Care Program. The Primary Care Physician makes a referral based on pre-established criteria. At present, adult dental care is only available at the South Regional Health Center Dental Clinic and the patient referral must come from Memorial Health Care System Primary Care Program. Preventive and limited routine dental care for eligible adults is also available at the Broward College Dental Clinic.

Is there a cost for services?
Services are provided on a sliding scale based on income- some services are free of charge. The charge for any procedure is decided once all eligibility paperwork is filled out. We also accept patients enrolled in the Children’s Medical Services Program and the South Florida Community Care Network.
