Q: What are your counter hours of operation? A: Our hours of operation are from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Q: If I come to your office during your hours of operation, can I receive my Birth Certificate right away? A: Depending upon the volume of requests, you can experience a 20 to 30 minute wait. During lunch time (11:30 am to 2 pm), you can expect a longer wait. Q: Do I need proper identification? A: Yes. Birth Certificates are confidential in the State of Florida. You must provide a current valid Driver's License, Passport, or State Identification Card. Q: What years do you have available for Birth Certificates? A: 1930 to the present for anyone born in the State of Florida Q: What years do you have available for Broward County Death Certificates? A: Presently, we have death certificates for the years 2005 to the present. You must have the correct month and year of the death in order for our office to issue a death certificate. Q: What is your turn around time on mail requests? A: Up to 14 working days Q: Do I have to have the birth application notarized before mailing to your office? A: If you have the application notarized, no ID is necessary. If it is not notarized, you must send us a copy of your current valid Driver's License, Passport, or State Identification Card to process your application.
