This program works to ensure that group care facilities in Broward County meet minimum health and safety standards.

In order to minimize the risk of transmitting disease and injury among the disabled, elderly, children, residents, employees, and visitors to these establishments, the Broward County Health Department checks the construction, operation and maintenance of a broad category of residential facilities.  These facilities may include public and private group homes, assisted living facilities, adult day care, crisis stabilization facilities and schools.
