Chronic diseases are among the most common and expensive health problems in the United States, and they are also some of the most preventable. Often the prevention is related to unhealthy behaviors that people can change. Getting information on the importance of increasing physical activity, healthy eating, not using or smoking tobacco, protecting your body from sun exposure and making some behavior changes can help. The Broward County Health Department offers educational sessions, community presentations and information on healthy living.
