The HIV/AIDS Program Office (APO) manages the following:  Patient Care Contracts [Ryan White CARE Act Parts A, B and C; the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP)]; Early Intervention Services, including Churches United to Stop HIV (CUSH); and services in county jails, including the Jail Linkage Program and RAPID HIV Testing.  The APO also includes the Minority AIDS Coordinator (MAC).  The APO works closely with the South Florida AIDS Network (SFAN) and the Broward County HIV Planning Council (HIVPC).

  

HIV/AIDS Training:

HIV/AIDS and related Services include:

  • Dental care
  • Pharmacy services
  • HIV/AIDS Prevention Services
  • AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Eligibility 

          The purpose of the AIDS Drug Assistance Program is to ensure that underserved and uninsured individuals living with HIV/AIDS have access to life-saving medications.

To enroll in ADAP you must be Ryan White Eligible:

  •  Proof of HIV Infection
  •  Proof of Living in Florida
  •  Proof of Household Income < 400 % FPL.
  •  No other access to medications through any other sources
  •  Prescriptions for at least one medication in the current ADAP formulary
  •  CD4 and Viral Load results, < 6 months old

Persons are not eligible if they are:

  •  In Institutional care
  •  Current Medicaid Recipient
  •  Private insurance –with monthly copays < $250.00
  •  Income > 400% Federal Poverty Level

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY & ENROLLMENT

  •  A Face To Face meeting with program staff is required

*Individuals who have private insurance may be eligible for the ADAP Premium Plus program: ADAP Premium Plus is a component of the ADAP program designed to assist ADAP clients who have prescription insurance coverage such as Medicare Part D, private insurance, or discount plans with out-of-pocket costs.

Patient Care Programs/Ryan White Program

The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Part A Program is a Federal program that provides HIV-related health services. The program assists those that do not have sufficient health care coverage and/or financial resources for managing HIV disease or AIDS. To be eligible for the program you must be HIV positive, a Broward County resident, and meet income requirements that vary by service.
