The objective of the group care program is to ensure good sanitary health and
safety practices related to the construction, operation and maintenance of
various group care facilities. In order to minimize the risk of transmitting
disease and injury among the disable, elderly, children, residents, employees,
and visitors to these establishments, the department checks the construction,
operation and maintenance of a broad category of residential facilities.
