Florida KidCare


 

Florida KidCare is our state's children's health insurance program for uninsured children under age 19. It is made up of four parts:

  • MediKids

  • Healthy Kids

  • Children's Medical Services (CMS) Network for children with special health care needs

  • Medicaid for children

When you apply for the insurance, Florida KidCare will check which program your child may be eligible for based on age and family income

Applying and Enrolling Information

  • One KidCare application to apply to all 4 programs

  • Applications process can take 4-6 weeks

  • All applications are sent to Tallahassee; county coordinators do not have access to the state system

  • If parent/guardian receives a letter, contact the number provided on the letter for further information

  • If an application is not completed correctly, sections left blank, or not legible - it may not be processed

  • Attach a current W-2, or four weeks of pay check stubs to the application as proof of income
